Football camp

The Intelligencer (Belleville) - - SPORTS -

No Limits Football Club and the Belleville Minor Football League are hoping to put Derek Wendel over the top in his bid to become a professional football player. The Belleville native, who recently finshed his fifth year of eligibility playing quarterback for the Ottawa Gee Gee’s, was named Most Valuable Football Player of the Ontario University Athletics, as well as a First team OUA All Star, Second Team All Canadian, and runner-up for the Hec Crighton Trophy for Canadian university football. Wendel recently attended an NFL regional combine in Minesota and spent January and February in Florida doing an eight-week training program with NFL level coaches. Being a student-athlete, Wendel has no had a chance to work andmake money for this experience, and No limits and the BMFL are trying to help. So this Saturday, March 25, a Pre-Season Football Camp for minor football players from grades 6 to 9 will be held at the Loyalist Sports Dome from 5-7 p.m. No equipment is needed and the cost is $10 per player. The Dome tim has been donated by some BMFL teams, and all registration fees will be donated to go towards off-setting costs for Wendel, who will be in attendance Saturday.
