Cy­clist in­jured in col­li­sion

City po­lice are hop­ing to lo­cate a ma­roon, Dodge Ram pick-up truck fol­low­ing a fail-to-re­main col­li­sion that re­sulted in a bi­cy­clist re­quir­ing med­i­cal treat­ment. Tues­day, at 9:13 p.m., a cy­clist was east­bound on Sta­tion Street ap­proach­ing Al­bion Street. A ma­roon Dodge Ram pickup was trav­el­ling the op­po­site di­rec­tion on Sta­tion Street and made a left turn onto Al­bion Street in the path of the cy­clist. The cy­clist struck the rear pas­sen­ger side of the truck and was knocked un­con­scious for a brief time. The pick-up was last seen trav­el­ling south on Al­bion Street. The pick-up should have some type of dam­age to the rear pas­sen­ger area and is de­scribed as be­ing a crew cab, short box. The vic­tim was trans­ported to QHC and later re­leased with non life-threat­en­ing in­juries. Po­lice are seek­ing ad­di­tional wit­nesses to the ac­ci­dent, and are asked to con­tact the Belleville Po­lice, Cst. Waite at 613-966-08882 ext 4083.
