Assault in city
Following an investigation by members of the Criminal Investigations Division of the Belleville Police Service, on October 11, Nicole Riley, 32, of Mississauga was charged with one count each of Aggravated Assault and Assault with a Weapon. Riley is held for a bail hearing on today’s date. At approximately 5:50 a.m., on October 11, the victim and accused that are known to each other were walking in the area of North Front Street and Bell Boulevard. A verbal argument ensued and escalated when the accused stabbed the victim in the upper chest. The victim was taken to Belleville General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The victim was treated and released. The accused fled the scene but was located at approximately 2:45 p.m. on October 12 in the north end of Belleville.
