In Clin­ique’s #dif­fer­ence­maker cam­paign, Ro­driguez ap­pears in a pow­er­ful video speak­ing about ed­u­ca­tion, along with in­spir­ing women such as Bri­tish for­mer Olympic cy­clist Vic­to­ria Pendle­ton and South African ac­tor Jessica Nkosi. The cam­paign aims to high­light how small changes in our daily lives can make big changes in our com­mu­ni­ties. “My life’s pur­pose is out­side my pas­sion for act­ing: free­ing oth­ers the way I was freed,” says Ro­driguez. “And there’s noth­ing more en­cour­ag­ing than be­ing able to do that with beauty brands, be­cause beauty be­gins with our con­fi­dence. Con­fi­dence is di­rectly linked to our ed­u­ca­tion, in­tel­li­gence, be­lief in our­selves and our be­lief in un­lim­ited pos­si­bil­i­ties.” Clin­ique will also make a do­na­tion to the char­ity Room to Read, which works to en­cour­age lit­er­acy among chil­dren, specif­i­cally girls, in de­vel­op­ing com­mu­ni­ties.
