What’s it like to be plucked by one of the biggest fashion brands to

customize its iconic bags? Londonbased illustrator Daisy Emerson knows first-hand. We chatted about her creative process, sartorial leanings and what keeps her inspired.

What do you love most about being

an illustrator? “That I’m able to be creative as my job. When I receive a new commission, it’s a chance to think about new ideas and techniques, which is always good for the mind. It helps you grow as an artist.”

How would you describe your fashion

philosophy? “I think I’ve carved out a bit of a uniform look of black skinny jeans, a white tee, a leather biker jacket and Superga platforms—but it’s a look I always tend to gravitate toward. I think fashion is about feeling good and comfortable in what you’ve got on.”

What was your favourite thing about working on this

Michael Kors campaign? “I usually stick to typography in my work, so it was fun to be able to come up with the little icons and graphics!”
