The Labrador Land Protectors (LLP) rang in the new year at the Muskrat Falls main gate and organizers said it went great.

One of the goals of the rally was to send the message to government leaders of all levels that the protectors are Labrador strong and united, organizers said.

“The battle cry is clear; it is time to shut Muskrat Down for good!!” said Denise Cole, one the organizers of the event. “No more dams, no more Labrador injustice, and no more allowing Nalcor to destroy the mighty Grand River! There are so many things wrong with the damming of Muskrat Falls, shutting it down is the only way to make it right! We are a people united and we will never be divided! And this, my friends, is what democracy looks like!”

The cold and chilly day didn’t stop members of the LLP from showing their solidarity at the rally at the Muskrat Falls main gate.
