The Happy Valley-Goose Bay Fire Chief’s personal vehicle has been designated by Fire and Emergency Services NL as an ‘emergency vehicle’ when responding to emergency calls that are approved by the RCMP, according to the town.

The Fire Chief’s vehicle is a dark blue GMC Sierra truck with license plate 1316FF. It is now equipped with a siren, strobe lights on the front grille and back bumper and a red emergency light in the windshield for the purpose of responding to fire and emergency related matters.

The Town has also added blue decals to the municipal enforcement vehicle, making it easily distinguishable from RCMP vehicles.

As per the Highway Traffic Act, motorists are required to safely pull over when the lights and siren are in use on these two vehicles.
