Trucker charged af­ter Hwy. 401 crash

A Bramp­ton man is charged with im­paired driv­ing af­ter a crash on High­way 401 East north­east of Wood­stock that se­ri­ously in­jured one per­son. An east­bound trac­tor trailer slowed abruptly and was rear-ended by an­other trans­port just west of Ox­ford Road 29 in Bland­fordBlen­heim Town­ship about 8:30 p.m. Wed­nes­day, Ox­ford OPP said. The driver of the sec­ond truck, who had to be cut from the wreck, suf­fered se­ri­ous but not lifethreat­en­ing in­juries. A car that hit crash de­bris was dam­aged, and about 200 litres of diesel fuel spilled on the road, po­lice said. The driver of the first truck, a 36-year-old Bramp­ton man, is charged with im­paired driv­ing, fail­ing to pro­vide a breath sam­ple and driv­ing while un­der sus­pen­sion.
