Steam vents from a corn dryer as har­vested corn is fill­ing corn si­los around the Lon­don re­gion. Adam Rob­son, whose fam­ily runs this silo com­plex on Ilder­ton Road, said al­though they are only half way through har­vest, the crop could be their best ever. The propane-fu­elled dryer runs 24 hours a day at this time of year, dry­ing about 1,700 bushels an hour, tak­ing the mois­ture con­tent of the grain from about 25 per cent right out of the field to 15.5 per cent, which is what the mois­ture needs to be for stor­age and sale.
