Whitecourt Mayor Maryann Chichak will be serving as the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association (AUMA) Executive Vice President for Towns for another year.
Mayor Chichak was originally elected to this role in October 2014, and represents all towns across the province.
In addition to this appointment, Maryann Chichak has represented Town-West as an AUMA Board Director since 2013.
“It is a pleasure and honour to represent towns from across Alberta on the AUMA Executive,” said WhitecourtMayor Maryann Chichak. “On a local level, the knowledge I will bring back to my hometown will greatly benefit Whitecourt residents. Furthermore, the relationships I will have the opportunity to build through AUMA, with government agencies and provincial government representatives, will increase the awareness of Whitecourt on a provincial level.”
AUMA represents urban municipalities including cities, towns, villages, summer villages and specialized municipalities which make up more than 85 per cent of Albertans.
