White­court Mayor Maryann Chichak will be serv­ing as the Al­berta Ur­ban Mu­nic­i­pal­i­ties As­so­ci­a­tion (AUMA) Ex­ec­u­tive Vice Pres­i­dent for Towns for an­other year.

Mayor Chichak was orig­i­nally elected to this role in Oc­to­ber 2014, and rep­re­sents all towns across the prov­ince.

In ad­di­tion to this ap­point­ment, Maryann Chichak has rep­re­sented Town-West as an AUMA Board Di­rec­tor since 2013.

“It is a plea­sure and hon­our to rep­re­sent towns from across Al­berta on the AUMA Ex­ec­u­tive,” said White­courtMayor Maryann Chichak. “On a lo­cal level, the knowl­edge I will bring back to my home­town will greatly ben­e­fit White­court res­i­dents. Fur­ther­more, the re­la­tion­ships I will have the op­por­tu­nity to build through AUMA, with gov­ern­ment agen­cies and pro­vin­cial gov­ern­ment rep­re­sen­ta­tives, will in­crease the aware­ness of White­court on a pro­vin­cial level.”

AUMA rep­re­sents ur­ban mu­nic­i­pal­i­ties in­clud­ing ci­ties, towns, vil­lages, sum­mer vil­lages and spe­cial­ized mu­nic­i­pal­i­ties which make up more than 85 per cent of Al­ber­tans.
