Yel­low­head County Fire Depart­ment Fall 2016 Grad­u­ates

Yel­low­head County Fire Depart­ment’s POC (Paid On-Call) fire­fight­ing train­ing pro­gram is a rig­or­ous course that en­sures new fire­fight­ers from all Yel­low­head County sta­tions re­ceive con­sis­tent train­ing and that all per­son­nel know to re­spond to dy­namic emer­gency scenes.

On Fri­day, Novem­ber 25, 2016, Yel­low­head County Fire Depart­ment (YCFD) wel­comed seven new fire­fight­ers to the depart­ment.

These fire­fight­ers are from var­i­ous com­mu­ni­ties across the County and will be sta­tioned at Sta­tion 9 (Wild­wood), Sta­tion 8 (Ni­ton Junc­tion), and Sta­tion 12 (Cen­tral).

Yel­low­head County Mayor Ger­ald Soroka was in at­ten­dance to con­grat­u­late the re­cruits and wel­come them to the Yel­low­head County Fire Depart­ment along with other coun­cil mem­bers and guests and fam­ily mem­bers of the grad­u­ates.

The next re­cruit train­ing starts right away and will have these new fire­fight­ers grad­u­at­ing this spring. The next re­cruit­ment cam­paign and signup for any­one want­ing to join the Yel­low­head County will be­gin late spring and re­cruits will need to be fully reg­is­tered by June 2, 2017.

There will be an Open House on April 9, 2017, for any­one in­ter­ested in join­ing YCFD but we al­ways wel­come a phone call or visit at any fire halls or our main fire depart­ment of­fice with any ques­tions you have.
