Cell Coverage in Cadomin and Wildwood – Council approved a partnership with TELUS to pay a 50/50 capital split of cell equipment for the Cadomin and Wildwood towers at the cost of $829,000. The addition of this coverage will significantly enhance cell phone service for residents, visitors, and people working in the area.
Community Services Strategic Plan – The Community Services Strategic Plan takes a comprehensive look at the existing community service amenities and programming in the Edson area and evaluates and suggests future development based on needs and best practices. This report - which focused on parks and recreation, arts and culture, museums and archives, and library services - will be considered in the development of future community services buildings and services.
Wildwood Ag Society Parking Lot – Yellowhead County will take over the ownership and maintenance of the Wildwood and District Agricultural Society’s parking lot for a continued use as a parks and recreation asset. Paving for the parking lot will be considered in the 2018 municipal budget and is estimated to be $350,000$400,000.
First Municipal Historic Resource Designations – Council approved the Bylaw for Municipal Historic Resource Designation for the Mathews United Church and the Cooper Barn. These are the first municipally designated Yellowhead County historical resources under Yellowhead County’s new Historic Resource Act.
The Tuesday, October 31, 2017 Council Meeting will include the swearing-in of the 2017-2021 Yellowhead County Council beginning at 9:30 A.M.
