Cell Cov­er­age in Cadomin and Wild­wood – Coun­cil ap­proved a part­ner­ship with TELUS to pay a 50/50 cap­i­tal split of cell equip­ment for the Cadomin and Wild­wood tow­ers at the cost of $829,000. The ad­di­tion of this cov­er­age will sig­nif­i­cantly en­hance cell phone ser­vice for res­i­dents, vis­i­tors, and peo­ple work­ing in the area.

Com­mu­nity Ser­vices Strate­gic Plan – The Com­mu­nity Ser­vices Strate­gic Plan takes a com­pre­hen­sive look at the ex­ist­ing com­mu­nity ser­vice ameni­ties and pro­gram­ming in the Ed­son area and eval­u­ates and sug­gests fu­ture devel­op­ment based on needs and best prac­tices. This re­port - which fo­cused on parks and re­cre­ation, arts and cul­ture, mu­se­ums and archives, and li­brary ser­vices - will be con­sid­ered in the devel­op­ment of fu­ture com­mu­nity ser­vices build­ings and ser­vices.

Wild­wood Ag So­ci­ety Park­ing Lot – Yel­low­head County will take over the own­er­ship and main­te­nance of the Wild­wood and District Agri­cul­tural So­ci­ety’s park­ing lot for a con­tin­ued use as a parks and re­cre­ation as­set. Paving for the park­ing lot will be con­sid­ered in the 2018 mu­nic­i­pal bud­get and is es­ti­mated to be $350,000$400,000.

First Mu­nic­i­pal His­toric Re­source Des­ig­na­tions – Coun­cil ap­proved the By­law for Mu­nic­i­pal His­toric Re­source Des­ig­na­tion for the Mathews United Church and the Cooper Barn. These are the first mu­nic­i­pally des­ig­nated Yel­low­head County his­tor­i­cal re­sources un­der Yel­low­head County’s new His­toric Re­source Act.

The Tues­day, Oc­to­ber 31, 2017 Coun­cil Meet­ing will in­clude the swear­ing-in of the 2017-2021 Yel­low­head County Coun­cil be­gin­ning at 9:30 A.M.
