RCMP Youth Academy open for ap­pli­ca­tions

St. Al­bert, AB - 24 grade 10 to 12 stu­dents from the cen­tral part of Al­berta will be soon se­lected to at­tend the 5 credit Work Ex­pe­ri­ence pro­gram called the RCMP Youth Academy that is go­ing to be held March 23 to 29, 2018 at Bellerose High School in St. Al­bert.

Ap­pli­ca­tions are avail­able at https://stal­bert.ca/city/eps/rcmp/rcmp-youth-academy/ and must be sub­mit­ted to the St. Al­bert RCMP De­tach­ment to the at­ten­tion of Cpl Lau­rel Kad­ing by Novem­ber 3, 2017.

The Academy is look­ing for youth with:

An in­ter­est in a law en­force­ment ca­reer

Good char­ac­ter

A de­sire to work in a group set­ting

A de­sire to try sce­nario work and at­tend class­room pre­sen­ta­tions A de­sire to learn to march­ing tech­niques

A de­sire to learn ar­rest­ing and search­ing skills

A de­sire to ex­pe­ri­ence what train­ing in the RCMP might be like
