Ed­son RCMP lo­cate drugs, firearm in traf­fic stop

Two per­sons are fac­ing charges firearm and drug charges af­ter a traf­fic stop in Ed­son last Fri­day (Oct. 27).

On Oc­to­ber 27, 2017 Ed­son Gen­eral In­ves­ti­ga­tion Sec­tion (GIS) con­ducted a traf­fic stop with a Ford F150 on 4th Av­enue. The driver was found to be wanted on un­re­lated war­rants and was ar­rested. Dur­ing the in­ter­ac­tion, of­fi­cers ob­served sus­pected drug para­pher­na­lia which led to the ar­rest of the pas­sen­ger.

A search of the ve­hi­cle re­cov­ered an al­leged al­tered, loaded .22 cal­i­bre firearm, a quan­tity of metham­phetamine, as well as a smaller amount of co­caine and mar­i­huana.

Ward ULMER (58) and Jen­nifer BLIZE (51) both of Ed­mon­ton, Al­berta have been jointly charged with pos­ses­sion of a pro­hib­ited firearm with am­mu­ni­tion, care­less stor­age of a firearm, pos­ses­sion of metham­phetamine for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing, and pos­ses­sion of co­caine and mar­i­huana. Both are set to ap­pear next in Ed­son Pro­vin­cial Court on Novem­ber 7, 2017.
