Edson RCMP locate drugs, firearm in traffic stop
Two persons are facing charges firearm and drug charges after a traffic stop in Edson last Friday (Oct. 27).
On October 27, 2017 Edson General Investigation Section (GIS) conducted a traffic stop with a Ford F150 on 4th Avenue. The driver was found to be wanted on unrelated warrants and was arrested. During the interaction, officers observed suspected drug paraphernalia which led to the arrest of the passenger.
A search of the vehicle recovered an alleged altered, loaded .22 calibre firearm, a quantity of methamphetamine, as well as a smaller amount of cocaine and marihuana.
Ward ULMER (58) and Jennifer BLIZE (51) both of Edmonton, Alberta have been jointly charged with possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, careless storage of a firearm, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of cocaine and marihuana. Both are set to appear next in Edson Provincial Court on November 7, 2017.
