HRH Orange Shirt Day

The McLeod River Post - - Education matters -

On Monday, October 1, the students and staff at Holy Redeemer wore orange shirts in honour of all the First Nations, Metis and Inuit people affected by Residential Schools in Canada. At the beginning of the day, the school took a moment to come together in the spirit of reconciliation and hope for generations of children to come. Here, the teaching staff stops for a quick photo. “This is such an important teaching moment for our students,” says FNMI Director Kim Nahirniak. “It is by participating in things like this, our students truly learn the meaning of reconciliation.”
