Jin­nah’s only daugh­ter Dina Wa­dia passes away

D ina Wa­dia, daugh­ter of Muham­mad Ali Jin­nah, passed away on Thurs­day at the age of 98. Dina Wa­dia was the daugh­ter and only child of the founder of Pak­istan, Muham­mad Ali Jin­nah and his wife Rat­tan­bai Petit. Her mother was a mem­ber of two of the elite class fam­i­lies of Bom­bay, the Petit–Tata fam­ily. Born: Au­gust 15, 1919, Lon­don, United King­dom Died: Novem­ber 2, 2017 Na­tion­al­ity: Bri­tish Spouse: Neville Wa­dia (m. 1931–1996) Chil­dren: Nusli Wa­dia Grand­chil­dren: Ness, Je­hangir Wa­dia Dina was the only child of Jin­nah and his wife Rat­tan­bai Petit. She was born on 15th Au­gust, 1919. Dina is sur­vived by her son Nusli Wa­dia.Her pa­ter­nal grand­par­ents were from Gu­jarat, who moved to Karachi for busi­ness in the mid 1870s, where her fa­ther, Jin­nah, was born. She last vis­ited Pak­istan in 2004 dur­ing a landmark cricket se­ries be­tween Pak­istan and In­dia on the in­vi­ta­tion of for­mer pres­i­dent Gen­eral (retd.) Pervez Mushar­raf. She con­sid­ered cricket diplo­macy to be an en­thralling di­men­sion. Wa­dia had never vis­ited Pak­istan since her fa­ther’s fu­neral in Septem­ber 1948. Source: Wikipedia
