Com­mon­wealth Games: Wrestler Inam Butt wins first gold medal for Pak­istan

Pak­istani wrestler Mo­ham­mad Inam Butt once again bagged the Gold medal at the free style wrestling com­pe­ti­tion by over­pow­er­ing his op­po­nent 0elvin Bibo of Nige­ria in the fi­nal of 6kg weight cat­e­gory. Butt won the match 6-0 on points in Must two rounds. Hail­ing from Gu­jran­wala, the 29-year-old wrestler ear­lier clinched the ti­tle dur­ing Delhi Com­mon­wealth Games 2010 when he had de­feated Jay­den Lawrence in the first bout be­fore over­pow­er­ing In­dia’s Somveer in the quar­ter­fi­nal. This is Pak­istan’s first Gold medal and over­all fifth medal. Ear­lier, two other wrestlers Mo­ham­mad Bi­lal and Tayyab Raza bagged the Bronze while weightlifters Talha Talib and Nooh Butt also won Bronze medals in their re­spec­tive cat­e­gories.
