Scotians at East Hants, home to Blues
TRENTON — The Pictou County Scotians will start their weekend with a game Friday in East Hants.
The Scotians (3-1-1) will take on the Penguins in a Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League road game, before their usual Sunday night contest at home, this week against the winless Cumberland County Blues.
The Blues have yet to register a single point in their first four games of the season. Pictou County had three wins and a shootout loss in their last four games, and on Friday they will face a Penguins team that has had little trouble finding the net; the Penguins (6-1) have scored 40 goals in their seven games — tops in the league — and five of the league’s top six point-getters wear the Penguins’ uniform, led by Quinn MacDonald (7G, 9A). “Obviously, we’ll (focus on) defence first,” against East Hants, Scotians forward Jacob Pentz said this week.
“Trying to keep their goals to a minimum, getting out of our own end efficiently and in their end more often.” Pentz is coming off a threegoal night last Sunday against the Antigonsh Bulldogs and leads the Scotians with five goals and three assists.
