Man pleads guilty to store robbery
PICTOU – A Churchville man has pleaded guilty to robbing a New Glasgow convenience store more than a year ago. Aaron Eildert Rice, 21, entered guilty pleas in Pictou provincial court Monday to a charge of robbery from an incident on March 10, 2016, as well as a second charge of failing to attend court on Sept. 6. 2017. A third charge of possession of stolen property was withdrawn by the Crown after the guilty pleas were entered.
The robbery charge is related to an incident on March 10, 2016, that police said involved three men walking into the Needs store on East River Road and demanded money and cigarettes from the lone male clerk.
Rice will return to provincial court Dec. 14 for sentencing.
