Man pleads guilty to store rob­bery

PIC­TOU – A Churchville man has pleaded guilty to rob­bing a New Glas­gow con­ve­nience store more than a year ago. Aaron Eildert Rice, 21, en­tered guilty pleas in Pic­tou provin­cial court Mon­day to a charge of rob­bery from an in­ci­dent on March 10, 2016, as well as a sec­ond charge of fail­ing to at­tend court on Sept. 6. 2017. A third charge of pos­ses­sion of stolen prop­erty was with­drawn by the Crown af­ter the guilty pleas were en­tered.

The rob­bery charge is re­lated to an in­ci­dent on March 10, 2016, that po­lice said in­volved three men walk­ing into the Needs store on East River Road and de­manded money and cig­a­rettes from the lone male clerk.

Rice will re­turn to provin­cial court Dec. 14 for sen­tenc­ing.
