Team MHL gets first win at Cup Chal­lenge

QUINTE WEST, Ont. – The Mar­itime Hockey League en­try at the East­ern Canada Cup Chal­lenge picked up their first win of the tour­na­ment on Tues­day af­ter­noon.

Team MHL East­link de­feated St. Louis – one of the teams rep­re­sent­ing Que­bec – by a 2-1 mar­gin, as Jor­dan King (Amherst Ram­blers) and Matt Bar­ron (Yar­mouth Mariners) supplied the goals.

The tour­na­ment is be­ing held in Quinte West, Ont., and three Pic­tou County Crush­ers – Michael Dill, Ja­cob Hickey and Dy­lan Ri­ley – are part of Team MHL.

They were sched­uled to play Tues­day evening in the round robin event.

On Mon­day, Team MHL lost 5-1 to the CCHJL (White) team, with the only Team MHL goal scored by Truro Bearcats for­ward Camp­bell Pickard.
