John Vincent “Wayne” Tutty

SINCLAIR’S ISLAND – John Vincent “Wayne” Tutty, age 77, of Sinclair’s Island, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018.

Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Vincent and Josephine (Mattie) Tutty.

He was a Supervisor in the Tool and Die Department at Hawker Siddeley Plant, Trenton, at the time of his retirement in 1989, having worked there all of his working life. He was a member of Albion Masonic Lodge and the former Doric Lodge. He was a long-time Shriner and enjoyed clowning with the Shriners and took pride in participat­ing in all local parades on his little motor bike. He played hockey and was an avid curler and golfer during years when health permitted. He enjoyed his daily excursions to McDonald’s and Tim Hortons and regular Wednesday breakfasts, along with many other meals, at the East Side Restaurant where he enjoyed interactio­n with the staff.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia B. (Cameron); sons: David (Brenda), New Glasgow; Allan, Trenton; grandchild­ren: Abigail “Abby” and Steven; sister, Catherine (Graham) Frampton, Cole Harbour; brothers: Reginald (Catherine), Pictou Landing; Robert (Katherine), Kings Head; several nieces and nephews.

He was predecease­d by sister-inlaw, Virginia “Ginny” Cameron Horton; nephew, Donald Tutty.

Visitation 2-4 p.m. Friday, in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow, with a service at 4 p.m. Friday, Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiatin­g. Burial will be in Church Brook Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in his memory may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 1003 Decarie Boulevard, Montreal, QC, H4A OA9 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
