Charges laid following search of marijuana dispensary
Three people stand charged following a police search of a New Glasgow cannabis dispensary.
On Thursday, Aug. 30 at around 5:30 p.m., the Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of the New Glasgow Regional Police, executed a search warrant at Scotia Green Inc., cannabis dispensary, 559 East River Rd., New Glasgow.
Police seized a quantity of cannabis marijuana, resin, derivatives, and cash.
Police arrested a 32-year-old man from Mount Uniacke, Nova Scotia, a 57-year-old woman from Trenton, and a 43-year-old woman from Pictou.
Both women were facing two counts of trafficking, two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and one count each for production of a controlled substance.
The male is facing one count for production of a controlled substance along with two counts of trafficking and two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. Both women were released, while the man remained in custody. All three were to appear in provincial court.
This isn’t the first time police have raided the business. Three people were also arrested following a search at the dispensary in May.
