Pair ar­rested for break­ing into home

GAR­DEN OF EDEN, N.S. — Two peo­ple from Truro will ap­pear in court to an­swer charges re­sult­ing from a break-in at a Gar­den of Eden res­i­dence in Pic­tou County.

At ap­prox­i­mately 5:50 p.m. Aug. 30, Pic­tou Dis­trict RCMP re­sponded to a com­plaint of a break-and-en­ter. The caller told po­lice the sus­pects had left in a ve­hi­cle; he was able to pro­vide a ve­hi­cle de­scrip­tion and li­cence plate num­ber. RCMP of­fi­cers lo­cated the ve­hi­cle driv­ing to­ward New Glas­gow, stopped it and ar­rested the man and woman in­side. A 25-year-old man from Truro faces charges of break and en­ter, pos­ses­sion of break-In tools and mis­chief. He was held in cus­tody and ap­peared in Pic­tou pro­vin­cial court Fri­day where he was re­manded un­til ear­lier this week. A 24-year-old Truro woman is charged with break and en­ter and is to ap­pear in Pic­tou court, Oct. 24. The in­ves­ti­ga­tion con­tin­ues.
