Bonvie needs lawyer to proceed
PICTOU, N.S. — A Pictou County man charged with robbery will return to court next month with a lawyer.
Shawn Michael Bonvie is also charged with confinement and uttering threats from an alleged incident in New Glasgow on Oct. 12, 2017. He told Pictou provincial court Tuesday that he has no contact with a lawyer and he considered making an application for state-funded legal services other than legal aid.
Since his application was never submitted, the court set a new court date of Oct. 10 during which time Nova Scotia Legal Aid will provide
counsel for Bonvie.
