Pentz hat trick helps Sco­tians beat Leafs

TREN­TON, N.S. — Ja­cob Pentz scored three goals as the Pic­tou County Sco­tians beat the Val­ley Maple Leafs 6-1 on Nov. 4. Colin Holmes, Bri­den Hawes and Cory McCrud­den also had goals for the Sco­tians (7-3), who have won four games in a row and five of their past six.

It was the third time in the past four games that Pentz has recorded a hat trick; he leads the Nova Sco­tia Ju­nior Hockey League with 15 goals. Holmes, Robert Bur­rows and Lo­gan Van­de­meer­akker all helped set up a pair of goals and Matt Mur­ray made 45 saves in the Sco­tians net. Van­de­meer­akker’s 20 as­sists leads the NSJHL.

Pic­tou County will play the Eska­soni Ju­nior Ea­gles Nov. 10 in Cape Bre­ton, and will wel­come the Liver­pool Pri­va­teers to Tren­ton rink the next night for a 6 p.m. game.
