Raccoon cuts power to 2,500 Bluewater customers
Contact between a raccoon and equipment at a Bluewater Power substation near Maxwell and Front streets in Sarnia cut power to 2,500 customers Saturday night.
The majority of the customers were in the substation area but 300 customers in south Sarnia and another 300 in Point Edward were affected. Lines from the substation power those two areas.
The power went out at 8:30 p.m. Saturday but Bluewater Power crews had it fixed by 1 a.m. Sunday.
There were reports of lights dimming in other areas but the power did not go out.
