Wy­oming man dead in head-on col­li­sion

Crash hap­pened near Til­bury Tues­day morn­ing

A 24-year-old Wy­oming man is dead and a 22-year-old Chatham man sus­tained se­ri­ous in­juries in a head-on crash on Queen’s Line near Til­bury early Tues­day morn­ing.

The Chatham man, who re­mains in hos­pi­tal, is ex­pected to re­cover, stated a me­dia re­lease from the Chatham-Kent Po­lice Ser­vice, is­sued Tues­day af­ter­noon.

Emer­gency crews were called to the two-ve­hi­cle col­li­sion be­tween Sin­clair Road and the High­way 401 over­pass at ap­prox­i­mately 6 a.m.

It is not cer­tain at this point whether the foggy con­di­tions played a part in the crash.

“It was foggy this morn­ing, but I think it’s just too early in the in­ves­ti­ga­tion to say that it was a fac­tor at this point,” pub­lic in­for­ma­tion of­fi­cer Const. Kelly Hel­bin said

The in­ves­ti­ga­tion re­mains on­go­ing by the traf­fic man­age­ment unit.
