A charitable book project focusing on local businesses and the people behind them is launching a second edition.

Since its launch in May, about 4,000 copies of the Year of Local — a project by Rich Bouchard and Laura Greaves — have sold.

Plans are to release a 75- to 100story second edition in the spring, Bouchard said. The first has 68.

All proceeds go to charity, he said. The price of the book is $25. Copies are available at The Book Keeper.

“It’s been a lot of fun getting to know everyone through this process and we are honoured to help get their stories out into the community,” Bouchard said.

Other businesses and not-forprofits interested in being featured are asked to sign up. For more information, visit yearoflo
