ST. JOHN’S, NL — Lisa Browne, Stella’s Circle CEO and former Clarenville Town Deputy Mayor, John Norman, chief operations officer and managing partner of Bonavista Living and Bonavista Creative, and Patsy Tremblett-Di Nillo, president and CEO of Prima Information Solutions Inc., were all awarded a place on the Atlantic Business Magazine’s Top 50 CEOs in Atlantic Canada awards list for 2017.

They received their awards at an event in St. John’s on May 17.

“I accept it more as an award for the company than a personal award. It’s really an award for the whole management team and staff … it’s a team award,” Norman explained to The Packet.

Norman’s social enterprise is involved in a variety of areas in the Bonavista area including restoring heritage structures for residential, commercial and artistic purposes.

“There was some really stiff competition and significant nominations that were made, so I feel quite honoured to be selected for the top 50.”

Browne says she was thrilled Stella’s Circle was recognized in this way. She says the staff is amazing at working with people, which is perhaps why the not-for-profit was recognized.

“You don’t always have notfor-profit community organizations recognized, and I think for me that was a really important thing,” she told The Packet.

She referenced her time on Clarenville council as a contributing factor to the leadership success with Stella’s Circle. Browne moved to St. John’s from Clarenville three years ago.

“Municipal politics was an excellent training ground … if anybody is looking to increase their leadership opportunities then they might want to think about running in September.”

And fittingly enough, May 18 was the 22nd anniversary of Stella’s Circle’s incorporation.

Tremblett-Di Nillo, was also honoured as one of the top 50 CEOs. She’s originally from Bonavista. Prima Information Solutions Inc. is a company that started in IT support, and deals with field of records and information management, based out of St. John’s but has clients all over the country.
