Man charged with Calvin Tobin’s death applies for legal aid
Firmage to appear in court again Oct. 12
Travis Firmage has applied for legal aid after being charged with causing the death of 25-year-old Calvin Tobin while driving impaired.
Firmage appeared in court in Clarenville on Thursday, Aug. 24.
The passenger of the vehicle, Tobin, was killed in a twovehicle accident on the TCH just west of Clarenville on Aug. 1.
Firmage, who is from Lethbridge, was driving east when he crossed into the westbound lane and collided with an oncoming transport truck.
Family members of Tobin were in attendance at court for what was expected to be a plea day for Firmage.
He is scheduled to appear in court again on Thursday, Oct. 12.
This case was one of four separate unrelated impaired driving appearances in Clarenville court last Thursday.
