“I want to be a voice for my community,” said Green.

Municipal Affairs says a second nomination day must be set.

The Town of Sunnyside says it is waiting to hear from Municipal Affairs as to when that second nomination date will be.

Municipal Affairs told The Packet that in this situation, an election would not proceed on Sept. 26.

Municipal Affairs also said if the following election fails to produce a quorum, the minister may also appoint additional councillors.

“I don’t know why people wouldn’t want to be involved and have some say,” said Snook.

As of Friday morning, Southern Harbor, Arnold’s Cove, Elliston, Trinity, and Clarenville, have all elected by acclamation.

“I don’t know if this will mean a further emphasis on regionalization,” wondered Snook.
