Funding announced for fire truck in Bunyan’s Cove
BUNYAN’S COVE, NL — The Bunyan’s Cove Fire Department has funding for a new fire truck.
The provincial government is investing about $229,000 for a new tanker truck with a 1,500-gallon poly water tank and a 1,500-gallon aluminum folding frame portable water tank.
Bonavista MHA Neil King thanked everyone who worked hard to procure funding for the truck.
“The investment in the fire services for this community will provide security for residents and benefit the community for years to come,” he stated via a press release.
Budget 2017 includes an investment of $1.88 million for the replacement of fire protection vehicles and firefighting equipment program for 2017-18.
Joyce said government is committed to providing the quality firefighting equipment and facilities to fire departments throughout the province.
“This new tanker truck will benefit residents and their families in the community of Bunyan’s Cove, and it assist volunteer firefighters to respond quickly in an emergency,” he stated.
