Glover­town cran­berry farm re­leased from en­vi­ron­men­tal as­sess­ment

GLOVER­TOWN, NL - The Depart­ment of Mu­nic­i­pal Af­fairs and En­vi­ron­ment has given the green light to Mega Healthy Cran­berry Farm, ac­cord­ing to an en­vi­ron­men­tal as­sess­ment bul­letin is­sued on Mon­day.

The com­pany is plan­ning to es­tab­lish and op­er­ate an 81-hectare cran­berry farm in the Glover­town area.

One con­di­tion was placed on the ap­proval – the pro­vi­sion of project spe­cific in­te­grated pest man­age­ment plan that has been ap­proved by the fruit crop de­vel­op­ment of­fi­cer and pro­vin­cial api­arist with the Depart­ment of Fish­eries and Land Re­sources prior to the start of con­struc­tion.

Mega Healthy Cran­berry Farm is plan­ning to pro­gres­sively de­velop its fields with ap­prox­i­mately 2.5 hectares in pro­duc­tion within the first two years.
