Cel­e­bra­tion of life for Al­li­son Smith held in Clarenville

The cel­e­bra­tion of life for Al­li­son Smith was held this past Tues­day, Sept. 12 in Clarenville.

Smith, 18, was re­ported miss­ing Tues­day, Sept. 5. She was last seen leav­ing Memo­rial Univer­sity at about 1 a.m. Tues­day night.

RNC found Smith’s body along with her car, which had also been re­ported miss­ing, Thurs­day, Sept. 7, in a wooded area off the TCH east of the weigh scales near the Fox­trap Ac­cess Road.

The dis­cov­ery came af­ter ear­lier checks in the area by both RNC and RCMP.

An on­line pe­ti­tion has since been started to ex­tend the guardrail west of the Fox­trap ac­cess.

Two years ago, Shel­don Quin­ton was when killed when his truck went off the road at the same lo­ca­tion as Smith’s did.
