Soucy says he looks for­ward to try­ing to fill Foote’s ‘big shoes’

“In short, I’m ready to move for­ward with great en­ergy and op­ti­mism on this ad­ven­ture … I am ready to be the next mem­ber of par­lia­ment for Bon­av­ista-Burin-Trin­ity.”

When asked about the fate of his al­ter-ego — comedic char­ac­ter “Snook” — Soucy joked that Snook reached out to him and told him “he would hap­pily re­tire.”

As for what’s next, Soucy doesn’t know when the nom­i­na­tion date might be, but in the mean­time, he plans to con­tinue talk­ing to con­stituents and trav­el­ling around the dis­trict.

“It’s a dif­fer­ent process for the nom­i­na­tion. It’s a mat­ter of seek­ing the fed­eral Lib­eral mem­bers and, of course, en­cour­ag­ing more to be­come fed­eral Lib­eral mem­bers.”
