Port Rexton, Port Blandford, Terra Nova elect councils
The polls closed last Tuesday, the ballots have been cast and counted, and the results were finalized.
Towns across the province held municipal elections, naming new councils and mayors.
Three of these communities happened to be Port Rexton, Port Blandford and Terra Nova.
The following seven candidates were successful in their bids to become town councillors, in order from most votes to least: the Bonavista Peninsula-Trinity/Placentia Bay area that The Packet covers.
Incumbent mayor Chad Holloway was previously confirmed via acclamation, but seven other candidates competed for six council seats.
48 per cent of the population cast ballots, 206 of 426 eligible voters.
