CNA’s top stu­dents rec­og­nized

Bran­don Pen­ney, Les­lie Ann Vardy among lo­cal win­ners

New­found­land and Labrador Lt.-Gov. Frank Fa­gan hosted the Gover­nor Gen­eral’s Aca­demic Medals cer­e­mony at Gov­ern­ment House in St. John’s last Mon­day.

Eleven of the 14 award re­cip­i­ents were in at­ten­dance for the event.

The medals are awarded to stu­dents grad­u­at­ing with the high­est grade point av­er­age from a Cana­dian col­lege pro­gram.

They are pre­sented by the ed­u­ca­tional in­sti­tu­tion on be­half of the gover­nor gen­eral.

Fa­gan told the stu­dents the fu­ture of the prov­ince is in good hands.


The Gover­nor Gen­eral’s Aca­demic Awards cer­e­mony was held at Gov­ern­ment House in St. John’s last Mon­day. Col­lege of the North At­lantic stu­dents were hon­oured for grad­u­at­ing at the top in their pro­grams at their re­spec­tive cam­puses. CNA pres­i­dent and CEO Bill Rad­ford and New­foundl­land and Labrador Lt.-Gov. Frank F. Fa­gan pre­sented the medals to the 11 re­cip­i­ents in at­ten­dance.
