Used needle discovered by children near Clarenville playground
Two parents say their children found a used, discarded needle Saturday evening near the playground on Huntley Dr.
Both parents posted the story to Facebook Saturday evening as an effort to warn other parents.
Tanya Holloway, one of the parents, says that her child wrapped the needle in a leaf, before bringing it home.
Both children were brought to hospital, along with the needle, which was safely disposed of by hospital staff.
Holloway says she reported the incident to RCMP.
Both children are safe. As of Sunday morning, the parent’s posts have over 460 combined shares.
Clarenville RCMP told The Packet that if a needle is located, RCMP should be notified immediately so that they can remove it safely.
“Please all parents be aware of the danger and warn your children a hundred times over never touch a needle on the ground!!” Holloway said in her post.
This needle was discovered in Clarenville Saturday evening.
