Clarenville Area SPCA launches first low-cost spay and neuter program
CLARENVILLE, NL— Clarenville Area SPCA officially launched its first low-cost spay and neuter program Saturday, Oct, 14.
Clarenville Area SPCA teamed with Dr. Maxina Hunt von Herbing and other volunteers from the North Atlantic Remote Vet Services, while Dr. Martha Sweeting donated the use of the Community Vet Hospital for the day.
Twenty-five families availed of the affordable services. Lunch for the volunteers, who worked from 7:30 a.m. until midnight, was provided by Geoff Adams of the Curtain Call Café.
The Clarenville Area SPCA noted that it is the revenue generated through the SPCA thrift store attached to the shelter that allows the organization to expand their services beyond the shelter.
For applications to the next clinic, call the SPCA at 466-3489. Check out www. clarenvilleareaspca.ca for full details.
