Oil in­dus­try boon

The ad­vent of the oil and gas in­dus­try in New­found­land and Labrador was marked by many ma­jor events and milestones.

Most no­tably, two ma­jor oil plat­forms were built at Bull Arm fab­ri­ca­tion site in Trin­ity Bay, Hiber­nia (com­pleted in 1997) and He­bron (fin­ished in 2017).

Both struc­tures are still in op­er­a­tion on the Grand Banks, ex­tract­ing off­shore oil miles off the coast of New­found­land.
