Baptist ministry to occupy closed Anglican Church in Keels
Vista Independent Baptist Church of Clarenville buys Bonavista Bay building
One of the four church buildings in the Bonavista Peninsula region deconsecrated and sold by the Anglican Church in recent months is not set to be repurposed into a residence, or torn down completely, but will continue on as a centre for worship within its community.
In Keels, Bonavista Bay, St. Phillips’ Anglican Church was purchased by the Vista Independent Baptist Church in Clarenville — the sale was finalized on Tuesday, Oct. 23.
In an interview with The Packet Baptist Pastor Les Chymist says the Clarenville Baptist Church has long had a connection with Keels, with people from the community traveling to Clarenville as part of their congregation.
