Man arrested for assault, impaired driving

A man arrested for impaired driving is also facing an assault charge, city police said. A woman in her late 20s who had been in a relationship with a man was attacked by the man in a Langton Street parking lot on Monday afternoon, police said. The man then left the area in a vehicle, police said, but a short time later officers saw a vehicle driving erratically nearby on Dutton Road in the city’s north end, police said. A 22-year-old man was charged with assault, failing to comply with a probation order, impaired driving and driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. He was held in custody for a bail hearing Tuesday afternoon.
