Teen charged over text message threats
City police were contacted after teen received unwanted threatening text messages in February. An investigation led police to a 16-year-old known to the person who received the texts. The 16-year-old went to police headquarters on March 7 and was charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and mischief under $5,000. He was released and will appear in court April 3. His name was not released under the terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
