Drug, weapons charges

City police have charged three people after a drug and weapons investigat­ion. Police officers from the Intelligen­ce, Intelligen­ce, Crime Analyst, Asset Forfeiture and Drug (ICAD) unit searched a home on Talwood Dr. Friday and seized marijuana and a pellet gun. Police later stopped a vehicle in the south end and arrested two people, seizing drugs, brass knuckles, a knife and cash. Jayson McConnell, 31, of Talwood Drive, is charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of traffickin­g (Hydromorph­one), possession of a schedule II substance (marijuana under 30 grams), unauthoriz­ed possession of weapon (brass knuckles), possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000, failing to comply with a probation order, four counts of possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibitio­n order and four counts of possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibitio­n order. Latisha Peplinski, 28, of Talwood Dr., is charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of traffickin­g (Hydromorph­one), possession of a schedule II substance (marijuana under 30 grams), possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and failing to comply with a probation order. Both were held in custody and were to appear in court Monday. The investigat­ion led police to a home on Goodfellow Rd., where a warrant was used to search the property. Rifles and drugs were seized. Milton Roberts, 46, was charged with possession of a schedule I substance (cocaine), unauthoriz­ed possession of a firearm and four counts of careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition. He was released and will appear in court in May.
