Why block access to the river for fishing?

The Peterborough Examiner - - OPINION - Gary Ferguson Aylmer St.

It is well known that behind Holiday Inn it is a hot spot for several species of fish including muskie, small mouthed bass and walleye.

A couple of months ago I went down and to my dismay the city had installed a dock that takes up almost the entire area.

Fine, I could live with it because you could still walk out and jig or cast. Further to my dismay I went go down a few days ago and it’s fence off and locked.

The dumbest thing about it is there have been no boats using it for the past two weeks. Empty. And I led to believe city council is so obtuse they believe they have the right to ban fisherman in Peterborough from accessing the river?

If the city owns the river and fish in it and claims ownership show us the deed.
