Hall named to na­tional lacrosse hall

A Mis­sis­sauga na­tive who won a Minto Cup and Mann Cup in Peter­bor­ough in 1983 is among the 2018 Cana­dian Lacrosse Hall of Fame in­ductees.

Brian Hall will be in­ducted dur­ing a cer­e­mony Oct. 27 in New West­min­ster, B.C. along­side play­ers Bill Squire, Ja­son Wul­der and Jim Lynch, veteran Jim Squires, builders Dan Mat­tin­son and Ed­ward Howe Jr., along with the 1996-2007 Ju­nior A Burn­aby Lak­ers.

Hall, 57, was picked up by the Peter­bor­ough ju­nior A team from Mis­sis­sauga mid­way through the 1982 sea­son and won a Minto Cup in 1983 and a Mann Cup the same year as a pick-up on Peter­bor­ough’s Se­nior team.

Hall won a sec­ond Mann Cup in 1987 as a pick-up player with the Brook­lin Red­men; a Pres­i­dents Cup with Owen Sound in 1990; a Na­tions Cup in 1991 with Guelph of the Cana­dian NLL Pro Se­ries; and Na­tions Cups in 1992, 1993 and 1996 with the Buf­falo Ban­dits of Ma­jor In­door Lacrosse League.

Brian Hall cap­tained the NLL’s Buf­falo Ban­dits to the Na­tions Cup in 1995-96 af­ter win­ning the Mann Cup and Minto Cup in Peter­bor­ough .
