Four hurt in col­li­sion

A sec­tion High­way 28 east of the city was closed for about seven hours Fri­day af­ter a se­ri­ous Tbone col­li­sion.

Four peo­ple were taken to Peter­bor­ough Re­gional Health Cen­tre, Peter­bor­ough County OPP said. Three had mi­nor in­juries, po­lice said, but one had life-threat­en­ing in­juries and was air­lifted from PRHC by Ornge air am­bu­lance to the trauma unit at Sun­ny­brook Health Sci­ences Cen­tre in Toronto in crit­i­cal con­di­tion.

The crash hap­pened at about 8 a.m. when a ve­hi­cle west­bound on Divi­sion Road and a ve­hi­cle south­bound on High­way 28 col­lided at the in­ter­sec­tion in Douro-Dum­mer Town­ship.

High­way 28 was closed be­tween Old Nor­wood Road and County Road 8 along with Divi­sion Road be­tween Sweeney Line and the 5th Line of Douro for an in­ves­ti­ga­tion by OPP tech­ni­cal traf­fic col­li­sion in­ves­ti­ga­tors. The roads re­opened by 3:15 p.m.
