Strange Christmas tale coming to Millbrook
MILLBROOK - Many well-loved Peterborough stars have been cast for 4th Line Theatre’s upcoming production The Other: A Strange Christmas Tale.
Written by Beverly Cooper and directed by Kim Blackwell, the holiday walking play follows a girl and her grandfather on a historical walking tour of Millbrook as they seek to find out the truth behind a mysterious woman. It will have six showings after its world premier in December.
Linda Kash, a local actor and director, will star as Phyllis. She began her career at Second City and has appeared in many films and television shows. She was also the Kraft Philadelphia Cream Cheese Angel in an ad campaign that ran for 16 years. Her co-star, Robert Winslow (4th Line Theatre founder and creative director) will be playing Ebie Krank. He has been involved in theatre for more than 35 years and has written 15 original plays. He has performed in plays in the U.S. and Britain since 1982.
Kash and Winslow will be joined by Jalen Brink, Naomi Duvall, Mark Hiscox, Emma Khaimovich, Steven Vlahos, Danny Waugh, Hilary Wear and Carly Webb.
The unique fiddle music will be performed by Saskia Tomkins. She participates in band activities with assorted groups, plays and teaches a multitude of styles and instruments, and has been fiddling since age 12.
As per the usual with 4th Line, Justin Hiscox will be the music director. He is also the music director for Anne Shirley Theatre Company, and leads Davey Jones’ Locker, Canada’s biggest seashell choir.
Tickets for the walking tour, which covers more than one kilometre, are limited.
