Group breaks into home

City po­lice have charged a lo­cal man af­ter a break-in at a city home.

Po­lice say a group of men went to a home Wed­nes­day at about 8:40 p.m., some car­ry­ing base­ball bats with nails stick­ing out of them, oth­ers with knives. The men had been de­nied en­try to the home.

A man was hurt at the house, and a woman who tried to fol­low the group when they left was also in­jured.

Ev­ery­one in­volved knows one an­other, po­lice say.

Po­lice were called and lo­cated a sus­pect at a city home at about 1:15 a.m. Thurs­day.

Jor­dan Donoghue, 21, of Ire­land Drive, was charged with as­sault caus­ing bod­ily harm, break and en­ter, pos­ses­sion of weapon for dan­ger­ous pur­pose and dis­guise with in­tent

He was to ap­pear in court Thurs­day.

The in­ves­ti­ga­tion is on­go­ing.
