The Pilot - - NEWS - christy.janes@pi BY CHRISTY JANES

As of Oct. 3, residents of New World Island and surrounding communities will see some changes in primary care providers at the New World Island Community Health Centre.

There will be no change to health care services.

In a press release from Central Health it was noted that Central Health continues to actively seek both locum (interim) and long-term primary care provider coverage for the area.

Services currently provided at the New World Island Community Health Centre will continue with the exception of walk-in clinic services.

An email from Central Health to The Pilot stated, “Persons needing these services should go to the walk in clinic at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre in Twillingate.”

The Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre will continue to support the New World Island Community Health Centre to ensure that any walk in clinic needs, test results and prescription issues are addressed. Emergency services will continue as normal.

The email from Central Health went on to read that scheduled clinics will continue, however, some clinics will be provided by a physician and others will be provided by nurse practitioners. A schedule of the coverage by these primary care providers can be found on the Central Health website at www. central as well as the Road to the Isles Primary Health Care Facebook page at https:// www. facebook. com/ Isles- ofNotre-Dame-Primary-HealthCare- 210797362431476/? hc_ ref=SEARCH.

Any cancellations will also be posted through these sites. Residents are encouraged to check these sites for updates.

Central Health appreciates the patience of clients during this time and apologizes for any inconvenience.
